US Marines VC118B Original By Tom Gibson and Harry Follas.
128427 (c/n no.43210) Repainted by Gerry McLaughlin

128427 was an occasional visitor to Prestwick Airport in Scotland during the 1980s. It caused
considerable interest, not just because it was a C118, which was rare even in the 1980s, but
because it was without a doubt the most magnificent C118 flying the skies at that time. The wheels
were spotless cream, the engine cowlings were polished to a mirror finish.(Something which is
particularly difficult to simulate in FS98!)
Looking back at my photographs from that time, it looks as if the wings were painted. I've looked
at quite a few books prior to painting this model, but I have not been able to find another one
with painted wings, so either my photo is misleading, or it was quite unique. Anyway, FS98 seems to
have difficulty in showing that the wings are white and not grey, but I assure you I've done my best.
Tom Gibsons latest revision to his great DC6 gets rid of the annoying grey shading on the edges of
the wings, so if you feel up to it, I suppose you could swap over the model files. I tried, but I
found a few problems and decided I was being a bit too 'nit-picking'. It looks fine as it is - or so
I think!

Thanks to Tom Gibson and Harry Follas who made the moving-parts DC6B which is the basis of this
repainted aircraft, and for letting me do it. I still retain parts of Tom's paintwork (although not
much in this particular aircraft) and of course Harry's very clever metal textures which add so much
to the realism. The original Western Airlines aircraft is great, and I still fly it too.

I'd also like to thank all the other people who contribute so much to the FS community, making models
recording sounds, designing panels; all those things I'd love to be able to do, but can't.

Now read the FS98 DC-6B CLOUDMASTER Text, for all the information about this aircraft, and how to
install it. Also, read that legal stuff!

Enjoy!
